Risk Factors and Occurrence of Bovine Brucellosis in the Limpopo Province, South Africa

Background: Bovine brucellosis causes substantial loses in livestock production systems through abortions and infertility. The aim of this study was to determine whether the occurrence bovine is influenced by climatic variabilities. Methods: Data on confirmed cases from year 2013 2018 retrieved Limpopo Department Agriculture Land Reform Rural Development. Temperature rainfall data South African Weather Services. A semi structured questionnaire used gather information management related risk factors 60 purposively selected farmers. were analysed using microsoft excel, simple linear regression, Pearson’s correlation coefficient Mann-Kendall test. Result: average rate 3.96%. Simple regression analysis indicated a non-significant (p greater than 0.05) effect temperature variabilities brucellosis. Seventy seven per cent cattle farmers aware 83% experienced abortion their herds.
